real dialogue in whateverland

While waiting for the train, Dimitris (from herenow DM) lights a cigarette. DM walks out of the waiting room to smoke outside, where smoking is not prohibited, but there is no dustbin. After the cigarette is done, DM makes sure it's not lit anymore, gets in waiting room, throws it in the garbage bin.

Old man follows DM to check what DM throws in the bin.

Old man: What are you doing?
DM: I am throwing my cigarette in the bin.
Old man: Why don't you throw it outside?
DM: Isn't it better if we don't throw our garbage anywhere?
Old man (looking suspicious): there is danger of fire in here.
DM: I made sure the cigarette is not lit.
Old man (not convinced): Ok, now walk out of the room.

i think that's the first moral of the story.

the second is to get used to the paranoia in the world around me. should have got used to this after a year in the army, but somehow didn't.
