the latest scandal

i am surprised this never turned up on a few international media such as bbc online. The story is that a year back (revealed only a few days ago) through the world famous vodafone, the mobile phones of 100 government officials and high ranking people (including the prime minister himself and a few other ministers) were being watched and the dialogues being recorded.

understandably, the repercussions of all this are a lot, and well, the story wouldn't have come to the media at all if one of former vodafone employee hadn't commit suicide in the meantime. he is believed to have known the wtory behind the scandal, or parts of it.

the interesting part of this all is that the focus of the story, as presented in the media, hasn't yet come to who is behind all this - who organised this operation of getting to these 100+ cell phone numbers. it obviously wasn't the telecom alone. of course the main scenario is international espionage but i really don't know if we will get to the truth. some people know (according to common logic the government knows as well) but for political reasons wouldn't wanna reveal.
