This book is not approved to treat disorders such as eBay addiction or incessant blind dating. it was a pleasant read and an unusual story. not a book you can extract a lot of conclusions from, except from the fact that the stories there could have been real. the movie is also out now, but i sometimes have the tendency to read the book before watching the movie (and a lot of times i didn't even know there was a movie, like when i bought "the devil wears prada" or when i read "high fidelity"). i also think it's difficult to transfer the feel of this book on screen. it's not like the lord of the rings, when a lot of special effects will do the job for you. indeed, seeing the trailer doesn't make me wanna see the movie at all. prefer the book.

• you are homophobic
• you take things too literally
• you are disturbed by sarcasm
