one hundred years of solitude
for the first half of the book i was not impressed, as i saw it like a simple story. by the end of the book i realised that it's a masterpiece. marquez had the simplest and wildest ideas combined. the steady course of time and the circular references of history, the subjective sense of reality, all summarised in the history of one family and one town.i would recommend this book to anyone (who hasn't read it that is, as i think i might have read it a bit late, compared to my friends). just try to read it in a short period of time, i think it helps not losing track of all the stories in the book and making sense of it all, especially since a lot of the names in different generations are repetitive.
winning the nobel prize for literature is not a surprise after this book.
